Ten commandments of possibility thinking

Ten commandments of possibility thinking by Dr. Robert H. Schuller and kindly forward to me by Mark Fritz :

  1. Never reject a possibility because you see something wrong with it.
  2. Never reject a possibility because you won’t get the credit
  3. Never reject an idea simply because it’s impossible
  4. Never reject a possibility because your mind is already made up
  5. Never reject an idea because it’s illegal (laws can be changed)
  6. Never reject an idea because you don ‘t have the money, manpower, mental power, or the muscle or the time to pull it off
  7. Never reject an idea because it will generate conflict
  8. Never reject an idea because it’s not your style
  9. Never reject an ideal because it might fail
  10. Never reject an idea because it is sure to succeed

As the web has become more mainstream so too it has become increasingly bland. There are quite clearly still many opportunities to innovate and deploy game changing strategies, but there seems to be less hunger and determination to do this. This is a great shame as without aggressive new ideas, creative and unconstrained thinking and really questioning what is the accepted wisdom, organisations are condemned to obtaining very mediocre results from the web.

What are you actually going to do in order to make your use of digital make a difference?

The overall result was a product that made sense to Apple and to the people using our site. A supplier that was easy to work with, did not get us involved in stuff we did not want or need to know (the techie bits) and gave a damn about the result.
