Conde Nast plans to put magazines on Apple’s Tablet

Media Week reported that Conde Nast said they are working on a digital version of Wired magazine for the much speculated on Apple tablet device. However to be fair what Conde Nast actually seem to be saying is that they will have a tablet version of the digital publications. 

The original report in All Things Digital apparently claims that Conde Nast has said it will have a version of Wired magazine ready for Apple’s talked about gadget by the middle of next year.

Conde Nast has already developed its content for the iPhone, with GQ available, and its says that magazines developed for tablet computers will include the same content found in the printed magazine, but with added multimedia such as video and web links. This opens up the debate as to what functionality a user should expect from a digital version and in reality how viable is something as small as a smartphone for consuming digital media?

It seems eReaders still need some robust thinking both in terms of functionality but also the supporting commercial models.
